The Architectural Restoration program affiliated to the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning was opened in 2017 and started education in the form of primary education as of the 2018-2019 academic year. Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive an associate degree in Architectural Restoration. Graduates of the program receive the title of Restoration Technician.
The Architectural Restoration Program provides a teaching on the preservation and restoration of all kinds of cultural assets in our country. The Architectural Restoration Program includes all the courses that will respond to all the stages and requirements of a building to be restored. In addition, with courses such as Art History, Architecture History, Terminology, Legislation, Technical Drawing, Survey, Restoration Project, Conservation Techniques and Computerized Drawing in the curriculum, it trains well-equipped personnel in Project Reading and Implementation, which is necessary in the professional life of the candidate.
Graduates of the Architectural Restoration program can work in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, General Directorate of Foundations, National Palaces, Restoration and Conservation Laboratories, Archaeological Excavations, Museums and relevant units of municipalities.
If our graduates are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) organized by ÖSYM, they can transfer to the universities' Architecture, Interior Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Traditional Turkish Arts and other relevant 4-year undergraduate departments approved by YÖK.
