CIVIL DEFENSE AND FIRE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM PROMOTION


Civil Defense and Firefighting Program was established in Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Akseki Vocational School, Property Protection and Security Department in 2020. The aim of this program is to take precautions against fires in order to meet the need for expert personnel trained in the field of CIVIL DEFENSE and FIRE MANAGEMENT within the scope of two-year associate degree education and in line with the main principles specified in Article 4 and clauses a and b of Article 5 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547. It is to train competent technical personnel in the field, who can provide fire fighting and rescue of life and property from fire, who can perform search, rescue and first aid interventions in incidents that occur as a result of disasters other than fire, and who can also provide the necessary training to the current personnel working in the unit in which they are assigned.
Students who successfully complete this program gain the title of "Civil Defense and Fire Brigade Technician".

Learning outcomes of the program

1. To learn the principles of Civil Defense and Firefighting basic laws and regulations and to use them in solving the problems they will encounter.
2. To be able to have information about the properties and types of tools, equipment and materials used in civil defense and firefighting, to learn how to use the equipment in operations, and to be able to maintain and clean it after the event.
3. Having knowledge about personal protective equipment in Civil Defense and Firefighting, using it in fires and performing basic maintenance,
4. To be able to respond to the fire with the right extinguishing material and method by recognizing the fire classes and the hazards specific to them,
5. To be able to access information and to search for resources for this purpose, to use databases and other information resources, and to be aware of new communication technologies,
6. Having knowledge about dangerous chemicals in Civil Defense and Firefighting, being able to use the necessary detection devices and responding to the fire of these substances with an appropriate extinguisher,
7. To be able to learn the ethical rules of the profession, to understand the importance of personal competence, physical strength and team spirit of the personnel working in civil defense and firefighting,
8. Having information about forest fires, sea fires and industrial fires, which are specific in firefighting, can have operational knowledge against such fires, manage the incident and response teams,
9. To be able to explain, apply and apply first aid and rescue techniques in Civil Defense and Firefighting,
10. To be able to learn how to make general research and examination and prepare a fire report after extinguishing a fire in firefighting.


Graduates of the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program;

Civil Defense and Firefighting graduates have many fields of work. While the majority of these fields of study are government institutions, graduates can also operate in the private sector. Possible job fields in which Civil Defense and Firefighting graduates can work are as follows.

Graduates of this program; With the DGS (Vertical Pass Exam), they can transfer to the "Emergency Aid and Disaster Management" and "Social Work" undergraduate programs of the universities.
